HS015 - Refresher Hazardous Substances Assessment (COSHH)

This 90 minute course will update attendees of the key requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002, associated regulations (e.g. Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulations (CLP), Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations, (DSEAR), legal updates and best practice in the context of chemical risk assessment in research and teaching laboratories.

To update attendee’s skills and knowledge, a practical ‘table-top’ COSHH based experimental risk assessment exercise using safety data sheets will be conducted. This will include information on practical measures such as risk evaluation of hazardous chemicals and laboratory safety controls.
