RS421 - Research Funding Applications 2: Costings, Impact, and Career Development

As an academic researcher, finding financial support for your work is one of the key skills you need to develop. This course follows on from Grant Writing I, and focuses on other aspects that are vital to an application for funding.

These include:

1) The research finance process in the UK. We will discuss the support available at QMUL for the financial aspects of your applications as well as how you can find research funding.
2) We will also discuss Research Impact and how you will need to write about this for your funding applications.
3) Many fellowship schemes now prioritise the communication of a career development plan. We will discuss how you might use your time as a fellow to prepare yourself for the next stage of your academic career.

It is intended for postdoctoral researchers. If you are a postgraduate student and would like to attend, please contact Dr Rui Pires Martins ( Those who are in the midst of developing a grant/fellowship application are especially encouraged to participate.
