RS450 - Public Engagement Masterclass

This half-day workshop is designed for anyone looking to take their first steps in public engagement, or those who have undertaken projects before and would like to cement their learning in this area. Public engagement is becoming increasing important to higher education and the research process and we aim to give you key skills in the following areas:
Communicating your research to publics, developing the skills required to engage in dialogue and conversation.
Understanding the needs and motivations of different sectors of the public and being able to tailor engagement mechanisms and styles of engagement to their needs.
Reflecting upon and evaluating engagement activity, including identifying the desired goals and outcomes of an activity, mechanisms of identifying success and using feedback to improve future activity.

After attending this training session you will be able to attend a variety of shorter training sessions delivered by the Centre for Public Engagement, aimed at developing your skills in specific areas.

This session will be delivered by Sarah Barnes, Public Engagement Manager in the Centre for Public Engagement at QMUL.
