RC216 - CVs and Applications for Jobs Outside Academia

It may have been a while since you last wrote a CV or an application for a job outside of academic research. This workshop explores how to identify and articulate the skills that you have developed during your PhD and put them together on an application, in a way that is meaningful to a broad range of employers.

Objectives

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • To gain and insight into the skills and experiences valued by non-academic employers.
  • To identify the key skills and experience required for a non academic CV/application form and summarise these effectively on applications.
