PD141 - Planning for Retirement (Day 2)

This year's programme is one day only. Please book on 'Day 1' of PD141 in order to be added to the register from 09:00-17:00

This is for any member of staff who is planning to retire in the near future. Workplace Financial trainers from the company Planned Future will facilitate and deliver most of the sessions that form part of this day.

Participants are welcome to bring a partner along to the session; please let us know when booking by emailing profdev@qmul.ac.uk

This session is a full day and is suitable for:
Professional Services, Support & Academic staff

PhD students please note that this course is intended for members of staff approaching retirement and does not accrue points towards your PhD's professional development scheme. Bookings from students will not be accepted.

For 2019 the course will run on a single day though the template of this course shows an extra day that has been relevant in other years.

Objectives

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Calculate the income they can expect from their pension
  • Make decisions about financial planning for retirement
  • Describe volunteering opportunities for experienced people
  • Make decisions about maintaining their health
  • Consider their goals and aspirations for the next phase of their lives
  • Decide whether they want to apply for deferred retirement
