PD219 - Screaming on the Inside?

Please note that this is a staff development course only and the places will be confirmed for staff members, not PHD or Research Students. Train Your Voice For Teaching and Stagecraft for Performance in Academia are instead recommended for those with student status.

Do you ever feel as if you are 'screaming on the inside' during interactions that require you to remain professional?

This course offers some ways of acknowledging the physical impact of your frustrations whilst helping you to maintain your professional persona.

In this workshop we will be using a range of vocal and practical techniques to help with formal or public situations where you may feel under pressure. How can you put yourself best into the scene? How do you come across? How do you adapt or react to discomfort? And how do you cope with personal frustration, communicating at cross-purposes, or with a reception that is less than supportive?

N.B: This is a highly interactive workshop that will require an open mind and full participation in a wide range of games and activities. We are delighted to have the services of Dr Maren Thom as your Master of Ceremonies:
