PD143 - Exploring your Personal Effectiveness

An enjoyable and thought-provoking workshop that focuses on core skills (essential but often overlooked) that are needed for success in today’s changing working environment.

It provides an opportunity for delegates to reflect on the strengths (and their own perceptions of weaknesses) they bring to their working life; and on the idea that it is the individual as a whole, not just a person’s job title, that makes a difference.

This course is suitable for: Professional Services, Support & Academic staff

[PhD students: please note that this course is intended for members of staff working at the university and does not accrue points towards your PhD’s professional development scheme. It is therefore not generally recommended for PhD Students.

If not, we shall cancel your booking.]

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:

  • Re-appraise the skills you bring to the workplace (thinking outside the job description)
  • Develop a flexible approach to the challenges of working life
  • Review & revise core skills (e.g. time management; problem solving; and presenting yourself in meetings; interviews etc)
