RD600 (Elements Training) - Elements: Introduction & adding your publications

This session will introduce Elements, QMUL’s online system for managing and recording research outputs.
We'll provide a guided tour around the Elements interface, its most commonly used features and demonstrate how to record details of your publications and deposit manuscripts.
There will be opportunity for hands-on practice and to customise your Elements search settings and home page.

During the session, we will cover:
- What is Elements and a guided tour of interface
- How to create a new records of research outputs (such as journal articles) in Elements
- How to deposit content (such as manuscript files) in the Elements system
- How to use the search tools to identify and claim existing publications
- The relationship between Elements and QMRO, the institutional repository
- Time for hands-on practice and questions

This session is suitable for researchers, research students and support staff who are new to Elements and who are required to log research outputs.

By the end of this session, participants should be able to:
- Understand how to access Elements and be familiar with the Elements interface
- Add/create new publication records and upload files
- Search for and claim existing publications
- Understand how Elements uses data to add content to QMRO and research publication pages
