This half-day workshop takes a fresh look at academic writing, de-mystifying it with activities to help you write more clearly and stylishly in your discipline. In the workshop, we will explore:
• what academic writing is and what it's for
• what 'good' looks like, and how this varies by discipline
• the writing process: thinking, planning, drafting and editing
• some ‘nuts and bolts’ of ‘good’ academic writing
• top tips (to avoid common writing pitfalls)
• developing good writing practice
