RD034 - Story-telling skills for engaging an audience with your research

Story-telling skills are a neglected but extremely effective means of expanding the reach and impact of your research. Academics are increasingly expected to be able to communicate their work successfully to a wide range of audiences. From academic articles, books and presentations to grant proposals, REF Impact Case Studies and public engagement activities, the ability to recognise and construct a compelling narrative will significantly help you and your research stand out.

This half-day workshop will identify and explore the key elements of story-telling and develop your ability to apply them within an academic context.
