RC007 - QM Careers: How do I decide what I want to do?

It can be challenging figuring out what you might want to focus on in your career. How do you know what’s out there? What could you do? What would you enjoy doing?

These are all very common questions amongst PhDs and ECRs whether they move beyond academia for work or stay within it.

In this interactive session we’ll kick off by using two techniques to help you reflect on your priorities in your working life. In the second half of the session we will focus on how you can research areas/sectors/roles of interest to gather information to help you make informed career decisions. You’ll leave with a rigorous action plan of how to move your career research forwards over the next six months.

This session complements RC008 on Career options for roles beyond academia (workshop on 4th December PM) and RC017 on Managing an Academic Career (workshop on 13th December).

Tutors: Andrea Cox and Dr Tracy Bussoli
