RD212-STEM (POSTPONED Until furter notice) - Becoming Writers: the art, craft and practice of effective academic writing (STEM)

Audience: All researchers (including staff and PhD students)

Preparation: you are invited to bring samples of your own writing, on which to practise the techniques learnt.

Academic writing in English has experienced a quiet revolution in recent years. While rigour and a certain formality remain necessary attributes, successful academics find they must increasingly engage with their readers and demonstrate the significance of their research to a wider audience. This half-day workshop aims to equip you with the capabilities and skills that will turn you into an effective writer, enabling the quality of your writing to match the strength of your ideas.

By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
