PD169 (Online webinar) - Staff Recruitment and Interview Selection

O&PD team are now transitioning to run some of our core workshops online, in webinar format, which will involve presentation style delivery with an opportunity to interact with the group and submit your questions. We will aim to send you a calendar invitation that invites you to join the webinar. This will direct you to download Microsoft Teams on any device and click 'Join Microsoft Team Meeting' (at the time the webinar starts).

This will be an approx. 90 minute webinar followed by a 30 minute open chat to address questions and other specific concerns. This shortened session involves some pre-course work - please familiarise yourself with the latest Recruitment Policy 2020 prior to joining this webinar: http://hr.qmul.ac.uk/procedures/recruit/policy-and-stages/.

This training course is identified as a contributor to compliance with QMUL best practice. The workshop focuses on building practical skills to recruit contracted staff fairly and effectively, including shortlisting and interviewing candidates as well as making robust recruitment decisions.

Please note: this course is only designed to train those on interview panels responsible for recruiting new members of staff and is NOT suited to advising on PHD or student selection. The content is largely based on employment law and the QMUL employment policies that are applicable only to staff contracts.

There will be a new course (not yet bookable on the system) created by the Doctoral College with a DC code that will be suited to PHD recruitment practices.

This course is only suitable for members of Academic and Professional Services staff at QM. Sorry, we cannot offer places to Research or Masters students and must prioritise members of staff who require the course to meet recruitment processes.
