RS019 (WS) - How to find your own mentor

These training sessions are intended for researchers who wish to find their own offline mentor, either within or beyond the Higher Education (HE) sector. These sessions are also involved with the QMUL Researcher Mentoring Scheme in Mode C (researcher-led mentoring).

In these sessions we will discuss strategies on how you can set about approaching and convincing someone to provide you with mentoring time, to support you in making your next career move. We will also discuss how you might approach people outside the HE sector, along with the expectations for both Group C mentors and mentees participating in our mentoring trial. Finally, we will also discuss several approaches to coaching and mentoring, which may prove useful for your sessions together.
