PD217 (Online workshop) - Introduction to Mentoring

This new workshop is an introductory course aimed at discussing best-practice and ethical guidelines for QMUL staff involved in mentoring. We welcome mentors, mentees and staff with coaching and supervisory interests.

The workshop will be interactive and participants are encouraged to bring and share their own experiences, hopes or concerns about mentoring.

The course aims to be both informative and motivational. Participants will be invited to create their own simple action plans: next steps for development.

Further recommendations and website links will be given on the day. Registered bookers will receive an outlook invitation with a link to join the Teams webinar.

This course is suitable for: All staff interested in the mentoring relationship.

[PhD students please note that this course is intended for members of staff working at the university. Apologies, we will not accept bookings from PHD students or students at any level and may verify your staff role to confirm your booking.]

  • To understand the mentoring relationship
  • To take into account pros and cons of mentoring
  • To map and think about ways of expanding your network
  • To think about how to find yourself a mentor
