Course Detail

QMACV01 - Interactivity in online teaching (online)

This session will explore ideas for enhancing interactivity and active learning in synchronous online delivery. We will discuss different ways of using synchronous and asynchronous delivery for active learning and review a range of tools that you can use in order to bring more interactivity to synchronous online teaching in different sized student groups. There will be opportunities to see how Blackboard Collaborate tools work in practice and discuss how to use these with your students. We will also explore any specific issues relating to interactivity you are having in transitioning your teaching online.

If you are less confident in using Blackboard Collaborate then you may find it useful to attend the session ‘ELUCV03 Run Webinars with Blackboard Collaborate’ first.

The QM Academy are running online training sessions for staff to need help to get help with teaching remotely. These sessions are designed to show you the most commonly used functions of the tools, explore how you can use them with students, give you some hands-on practice and have your questions answered, supported by guidance documentation.

All sessions will be delivered online. Please access this session on the following link:
https://qmplus.qmul.ac.uk/course/view.php?id=13618

The link above will direct you to a QMplus area where you can select the session you wish to join.

You will be required to self-enrol on this course the first time you access it.

The sessions are available to all staff, but relevant to those who are directly involved in teaching.
