RS-MC-001 - How to write an opinion piece and get published

All academic staff, but particularly early career researchers

This workshop will be hosted online.
You will receive joining instructions via email 2 weeks in advance of the session and again 2 days in advance.

The last few years have seen a huge growth in demand for opinion-led journalism, and as an academic with expertise in a specialist field your views are highly valued by a wide range of media outlets. A good opinion piece will entertain and inform, promote your work, and enrich public debate. In this session you will learn how to spot an opportunity for an opinion piece, how to pitch your idea, and how to write so that your editor comes back to you for more.

This workshop will be co-delivered by a guest speaker from the Conversation.
