DC300 - 3rd Year PhD Cohort Day - Employability

This year’s 3rd year PhD cohort day will explore how to think creatively about your career post-PhD particularly in the context of graduating during a recession.

The first session (10:30 – 11:30) will take a macro-level look at the current UK and global job market. We’ll also look at the new UK post-study visa for international PhDs. Then we’ll explore the skills and experience you have gained during your PhD and look at these through the lens of employers. Beyond your specialised subject knowledge, what has your PhD experience given you that will help you stand out from the job-hunting crowd?

For the second session (11.45 – 12.15) you’ll have a choice of short workshops:
- LinkedIn for researchers – 6 tips to improve your LinkedIn presence
- Or
- How to ace an interview – online and in-person
