QMAOLBBC (QMAOLBBC08) - Promoting Healthy and Harmonious Online Learning Environments in Blackboard Collaborate

In this interactive workshop session, a Curio learning and teaching expert will explore the ways in which misconduct can occur in online environments, specifically via the Collaborate platform. Together, attendees will diagnose some common examples of how and why misbehaviour might occur, and the ways in which this can disrupt learning. Some proactive strategies and solutions to mitigate specific examples will be workshopped. This session will also give an overview of the various QMUL policies and support systems available to teaching staff and students during this online semester. Importantly, this session will focus on the Collaborate platform and some of the most important settings to help control and manage your online space. Many of these will be demonstrated in real-time, and there is time available at the end of the session to ask specific questions you may have managing misconduct; both through pedagogic practices and the platform.
